The Dallas Stars and the NHL finally received great news regarding the start of the 2021 season, despite its current delay. The season will officially begin on January 13th, 2021. The NHL finally announced the decision to start the season after some disagreement with the NHL Player’s Association. Despite the disagreement, both were able to come to a consensus and decide on a start date.

This current season is sure to be an eventful one, much like the last. Because of the pandemic, many games were postponed and even more players were out. Unless the current vaccine is able to get out to everyone, we’ll most likely see a similar plan this season as well.

Official start date for the Stars’ season

The next season will start on Wednesday, January 13th. Dallas will play a total of 56 games. The team will most likely see some delays like the last year. If all does go according to schedule, the team will end their season on May 8th, 2021.

This season’s newcomers

The 2021 season might end up being great one for the Dallas Stars. There will be a couple of newcomers too, so we’ll see how they work with the rest of the team. The new players this year will be forward Fredrik Karlstrom and defender Jerad Rosburg.

Fredrik Karlstrom is a forward from Stockholm, Sweden. He’s been playing professionally in the European league since 2017. That year, he joined the Swedish Hockey League to play for Linköping HC. He later transferred to another SHL team, the Växjö Lakers. Karlstrom just finished up his last season with the Lakers — just in time to start this next season with the Stars.

The other Stars rookie this year, Jerad Rosburg, comes from Michigan State University. At Michigan State, Rosburg won the NCAA’s outstanding defensive player award for the 2018-2019 season. He’s a skilled defender, but isn’t necessarily seasoned with the NFL. The news of his recruitment came as a bit of a surprise for this season, but we’re sure he’ll be an excellent fit for the Dallas Stars.

Though we’ve got a couple of new players and a pandemic this year, we’re hopeful that great things are in store for Dallas. As always, we plan to keep you updated as we hear more news about the Stars’ schedule for this next season.
