Dallas’ very own hockey team, the Stars, recently unveiled their 2020-2021 schedule and roster. The series of games will last for 56 games and see the Stars traveling around the country. Due to financial reasons, the team has seen some struggle to get ready for the 2020-2021 season. Despite this, we’re hopeful the team will be able to pull through and make the most of this season.

2020-21 Stars see financial trouble

This time around, we’ll see the Stars struggling with COVID outages yet again. Much like last season, it was a struggle for the team. Last season was certainly a difficult one. With hotelier Tom Gaglardi as owner, the team struggled financially when the travel industry went downhill fast in early 2020. The owner had plans to develop more Dallas real estate, and had already invested a decent chunk elsewhere. Because of this, when the pandemic hit, the team didn’t have too much funding to fall back on. It’s the same case this year, so we’re hoping ticket sales begin to pick back up.

A glimmer of hope for the team

Although financial troubles have been a detractor for the team’s morale, this season’s roster may just reverse it. While we’ll see the famed Tyler Seguin returning as a forward later in the season after his recent surgery, the team’s starting lineup has many newcomers this year. We’ll see Joe Pavelski and Jamie Benn starting this season, and we think it’ll finally give these players a chance to shine. Previously, they’ve seen limited playtime due to some of the Star’s top players filling the same roles.

With these new players finally seeing some play time this 2020-2021 season, it’s sure to be an interesting one. Tyler Seguin should be returning in March from his surgery, if all goes well. While it’s sure to be a tumultuous season for the Dallas Stars, we’re sure that our team can make the most of it. Hopefully we’ll see some fantastic new Stars players come out of this too!
